Review and comparison of construction plans

Building construction contracting is unique in that the contract documents consist of the contract, the drawings and the specifications. Even on a small project the drawings can consist of a hundred sheets and the specifications of several hundred pages. Together with the contract hundreds of pages all form the construction contract. There is no such thing as a perfect set of documents. Inevitably there will be contradictions, errors and omissions which is why the construction contract provides mechanisms to resolve issues that arise. We review the contract documents prior to construction in order to reduce the number and scope of contradictions, errors and omissions. We also review contract documents after the fact to determine if they meet an appropriate level of professional competence and the significance of the issues therein. This is important in cases involving professional competency and construction defects.
